Pleated media filters have been used in a variety of industrial applications, including air filtration in pharmaceutics and microelectronics cleanrooms, in computerdisk-drive micro-environments, and in inlet systems to the gas turbines. A pleated media filter is more compact and has more filtration area than a flat sheet media. With lower media face velocity due to increased filtration area, the pleated media filter has improved particle collection efficiency and reduced filter pressure drop, which can result in an improved cleanliness level in a clean space while reducing operating costs.
